Blue Horizon Charity Inc, along with Bilalul Habeshi entered an agreement with Babul Kheyer Charity Organization to implement the school feeding program in Abadir Schools (Winget and Atobis Tera) beginning Nov 1, 2024. The program will provide lunch for both schools five days a week, which includes injera with wot, rice, pasta, macaroni with vegetables or meat. All Government schools in Ethiopia provide meals for their students, however NO ISLAMIC EDUCATION is taught in their schools. With your ongoing support both Abadir Schools will not only retain students from poor families but most importantly will provide both Academic and Islamic education for the future of our children.
For over 60 years, Abadir Islamic Schools in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, (Abadir School and Abadir Institute), have been a place of hope and learning for children, especially those from low-income families. Founded in 1960s, the school was established with the objective of teaching modern education, in addition to Islamic education. Presently, the school is facing a very tough reality. Its students’ number has dropped to fewer than 400 – a heartbreaking decline from where the school used to be. Among other things, one of the main reasons for this is that families are struggling more than ever, due to growing socio-economic challenges, and number 1 CHALLENGE is providing meals (FOOD) for their families.
School Feeding Program Donation Request
The Problem:
- Hunger in the Classroom: For many of the students, having an empty stomach is their daily reality, making it nearly impossible to focus, learn, or even stay awake during lessons.
- Falling Enrollment: As times get harder, families are forced to pull their kids out and send them to government schools simply because they offer free meals.
The solution – School Feeding Program:
To curb the above challenge, a school feeding program has been started last year. This program will provide nutritious meals to every student, ensuring that no child has to learn on an empty stomach.
This will not only mean kids are provided with a meal. It also means:
- Improved Learning: A full stomach means a focused mind. Kids will be able to concentrate, participate, and have a better chance in succeeding with their studies.
- Better Health: Nutritious meals will help children grow stronger and healthier, giving them the energy they need
Why This Matters:
Education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty, but hunger is a barrier that no child should have to face. By supporting our feeding program, you are not just providing meals – you are giving children the tools they need to build a brighter future.

HAMPER BASKET DISTRIBUTION -2025 - BLUE HORIZON CHARITY INC., IN COLLABORATION WITH BILALUL HABESHI CHARITY ORGANIZATION:
Have successfully delivered Hamper Baskets prepared with 10 Kgs of wheat flour, 5 Kgs of oats, 2 Kgs of dates and 5 liters of oil. It was distributed to a total of 120 households of which 40 were delivered door to door to the very vulnerable families at the Alert (Leapers) village, 80 at the Woreda and 4 Compound.

RAMADAN 2025 – MASJID DONATION – A donation was made by purchasing electric cables which provided electricity to a new mosque in Modjo. ALHAMDULILLAH!!
BUSINESS STARTUP – The first Business startup donation (above) was given to two Saudi returnees that were given a working space (container) by the Government and started selling tea, coffee and water, but did not have the means to buy other inputs to expand their business beyond that. JazakAllahu Khairan.
The second business startup donation (below) was given to Saada Dino, a mother facing extreme hardship. A former parent of Abadir school, Saada lives in a small shack with severely poor living conditions. She supports a family of 7, including a child with epilepsy who requires ongoing medication. The family has no stable source of income, as her husband, who once worked as a solid waste collector, was injured in a fall and is now limited to working as a shoeshine, earning only a modest income. She is a skilled spice maker, capable of producing berbere, shiro, and other traditional spices, and can wholesale these products to local shops. The business start-up donation aims to empower her to establish a sustainable livelihood, using her skills to generate income and improve her family’s quality of life. At the time of writing this report, she had already started the business and was able to borrow money from her communal association to repair her shack. MashaAllah
This sadaqah was done at the outskirts of Harar in a place called Burka Jeylan. More than 65 families were hosted, and necessary supplies were given to them so that they can be comfortable pre-Ramadan 2025. (SEE VIDEO)

FEEDING OF THE HOMELESS AND DESTITUTE IN GUYANA, SOUTH AMERICA- AUGUST, 2024.

Members of Blue Horizon Charity, Inc. visited Guyana, S.A. in August 2024. Food was prepared by members, and over 80 boxes were personally hand delivered with bottled water to THE DHARM-SHALA – HOME OF THE BENEVOLENCE FOR ALL RACES and THE MINISTRY OF HUMAN SERVICES AND SOCIAL SECURITY – NIGHT SHELTER.
1. The DHARAM-SHALA was established in then British Guiana for over 100 years and houses homeless and needy adult individuals.
2. The NIGHT SHELTER was established in Guyana and also houses homeless and needy adult individuals.
The team was welcomed, and the distribution was very much appreciated by the officials and the recipients. (SEE VIDEOS)
3. In addition to the feeding, BHC visited CENTRAL ISLAMIC ORGANIZATION OF GUYANA (CIOG) to hand deliver monetary contributions sent by family members.
The CIOG is a Humanitarian Organization that assist the poor and needy in healthcare, housing, welfare and many other forms of assistance operated on and generous donations.

Blue Horizon Charity, Inc, in Collaboration with Bilalul Habeshi Charity Organization,organized and distributed Udhiya contributions to several villages in Ethiopia.
In Ethiopia, where poverty and food insecurity are persistent challenges, this project aims to ensure that disadvantaged families are given fresh meat during this joyful occasion. By providing them with the means to celebrate Eid Al Adha with dignity and joy, the project promotes inclusivity and support for those in need.
Udhiyah in Alert village – (Leapers Village) Addis Ababa
Fresh meat from 22 sheep was prepared and delivered to Alert village community in Zenebe Work near Alert Hospital. A total of 44 admitted patients, disabled, elders, and leprosy patients, needy and other vulnerable people benefited from this project.
Udhiyah in Argoba – Korome and Emerdin
Two oxen were purchased, for two Woredas, and fresh meat was distributed to 45 needy people in each Woreda, The project was undertaken in Korome and Emerdin Woredas in Argoba village found in the outskirts of Harari regional state.

Three sheep were contributed and distributed into 12 parts. A total of 65 students gained from the distribution.

It is not necessary that this may be said in so many words while feeding the poor man.
It may be said in the heart; in the sight of Allah this is as meritorious as saying it with the tongue.
But saying these words with the tongue has been particularly mentioned so as to set the person being helped at ease that no thanks or recompense is due from him, so that he eats with full satisfaction and peace of mind INSHA ALLAH.

Hagere Community Development Association-Concise Project Completion Report

III. Project Title: Creating access to safe water by functionalizing a machine drilled shallow well
Location: Town/Village: Kuno, District/Woreda: Silti, Zone: Silte
Region: Central Ethiopia National Regional State
Country: Ethiopia – GPS Coordinates: 8°03’16.0″N 38°25’47.9″E, Distance from Addis Ababa: 155 kilometers.
IV. Project Duration
According to the project funding agreement signed, the project was planned to start on the 25th of October 2023 and end up on the 25th of November 2023. However, due to some technical and security issues the inauguration and handover ceremony of the project was delayed by two months and inaugurated on January 28, 2024.
V. Project Components or Major Project Activities
The project had three main components namely: water tank seat, 10,000 liters capacity plastic water tanker and SOLAR PUMP with complete accessories. These were the three main pillars when HCDA embark on of the project. Here are below the works done:
Water Tanker Seat
● One masonry 2.40m*2.4m water tank seat with 1.3m height. Note: additional one masonry water tank seat with 3.5m*2.5m with 2.2m height size built by the local government
Plastic Water Tank
● Ten thousand liters capacity plastic water purchased and provided as well as installed with the water source. Note: One additional 10,000 liters fiber tank was bought by the local gov’t to cope up with the water demand
Water Distribution Points:
● A Water point with six faucets has been constructed and installed. Note: two additional water points were installed (one with two faucets within the health center and another in the compound of the nearby high school with ten faucets)
Solar Pump One 1.4KW submersible pump
Four solar panels (250W each). Note: Four panels were added to enhance the water discharge.
PN 16 HDPE=OD=1.5” and fittings (elbow, sockets, union, reducers, etc.)
Special Achievements:
● Work has started to connect the water lines in the building of the health center, which has not been used for many years, to the new line to provide water services to each service room of the health center.
● Regular users: more than 1200 households.

The Qibett (Gurage region) Madrassa (school) is where BHC found water supply. This addition at the school was made possible thru ongoing contributions by individuals who are committed to Improve the Living conditions and provide “Aid For The Needy”.

DEEP WATER WELL FOR WOLISO - COMPLETED

An Inauguration Ceremony was held on Friday, June 18th, 2021. The Medressa Officials, all staff, invited guests, and the community were present. The program lasted from 9:00 to 11:30AM with lunch served after. (see video)
An award was presented to BHC Inc., from “Darul Quran Hifz and Knowledge” Medressa, for their efforts towards coordinating this project. IN (KINDNES TO) EVERY LIVING BEING THERE IS A REWARD

This site was selected in a school called Medresetul Ansuar. It currently consists of 974 students and 51 staffs. They suffer from water breaks of up to 15 days at a time due to shortage, and costs them $2,100.00 a year to get water. This project will eliminate this expense and shortages. The project will also include water points outside the compound to reach about 200 families.

BACK TO SCHOOL DURING COVID-19 PANDEMIC - 2020
BHC, Inc., Implemented by Ethio-Gulf, during the Covid-19 pandemic, installed hands free Wash stand, with soap dispenser in schools. (Water/soap is dispensed by pressing leaver with foot). Face Masks and Water bottles were also distributed to help keep children safe.

“And to feed in the day of severe hunger. An orphan near of kin, or some poor person in misery” Quran 90:14-16
It is reported in a hadith (sayings of the Prophet (saw)), that Prophet Muhammad (saw) said, “Feed the hungry, visit the sick, and set free the captives”. Islam advocates feeding the hungry, regardless of race, religion or background. He (saw) also said “a person is not really a Muslim if he goes to bed satisfied while his neighbor goes hungry”.
Prophet Muhammad (saw) said that a believer’s shade on the Day of Judgment will be his charity.
